EAP is a 1-year core course in English for Academic Purposes. This balanced course is tailored to meet the English language needs of first-year undergraduate students at the Department of Computer Science (CS) and equip them with the necessary knowledge and communication skills for better performance in CS subjects. This is achieved through enhancing students’ academic reading and writing comprehension skills as well as teaching them to express and support their viewpoints orally and in writing in the manner appropriate in the academic environment. This course prepares students for writing academic texts, such as research articles, conference proceedings, book chapters, reviews, and theses.
